Job description
Prepare and verify Hazardous Area Classification (HAC) in line with standards and regulations.
Design Fire Protection and Firewater Systems, including demand calculation, hydraulic analysis, equipment sizing, and layout.
Perform and review Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA), consequence analysis, and implement recommendations.
Conduct SIL / LOPA assessments, ensuring proper safeguarding and safety instrumented systems.
Participate or lead HAZOP, HAZID, and other safety reviews, ensuring action close-out and design improvements.
Design Relief and Flare Systems, including relief load calculations and flare network analysis per API/ISO standards.
Carry out Process Hazard Analysis and develop mitigation measures.
Ensure regulatory compliance with local and international standards (MS, OSHA, NFPA, API, ISO, UBBL).
Assess emergency response and plant layout safety, including escape routes and fire protection adequacy.
Prepare clear and accurate safety documentation and reports.
Requirements
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent field.
Registered engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
6 years’ experience in executing engineering work in Oil & Gas Industry.
Possesses high technical capability in most aspects of his/her discipline.
Ability to plan and review all engineering deliverables/ non-deliverables documents or drawings from a technical and quality point of view.
Able to train and supervise younger engineers in some aspects of his/her discipline.
Able to support the Project team and/or Business Development group in discussions with Client Engineers/Managers as an expert in his/her field.
Experience in providing input on constructability, operational, and maintenance issues in the design.
Have effective communication skills with Engineers and Designers to ensure design integrity and consistency.
